Feng Shui tip voor een jaar zonder lente.

Dit jaar kunnen wij zeker de steun van goede Feng Shui gebruiken. Op 7 februari 2016 begon het jaar van de Aap. Omdat het jaar zo laat is begonnen ontbreekt deze aan lente (eerste lentedag Lap Chun valt op 4 februari).

In Feng Shui wordt een jaar welke geen lente in zich heeft beschouwd als een jaar zonder groei. Probeer lente zelf in je huis, tuin en balkon te creëren. Stimuleer de energie van groei met veel lentebloemen op tafels, raamvensters en kastjes.

MIJN HUIS IS MIJN WELLNEST.

Een huis hoort een warm nest te zijn, waarin we graag vertoeven. Een plek waarin we ons prettig voelen. Een plek die veiligheid biedt en ruimte om te zijn wie we echt zijn. Hier laadt je je op en kun je je terugtrekken. Dit is wat een huis een wellnest maakt. 

RUIMTE VOOR WELZIJN.

Het doel van wellnest is het vergroten van welzijn van mens door design. Het creëren van harmonieuze en comfortabele leefomgeving waarin alle fysieke materie ten dienste staat van de gebruikers. Of dat nu een woonhuis of kantoor is, het restaurant of de hotelkamer, een ruimte zo ontwerpen dat mensen zich prettig en veilig voelen, van de ruimte kunnen genieten en er beter van worden.

EEN BEWUST ONTWORPEN RUIMTE HELPT ONS BETER TE WORDEN.

Als wij ons niet lekker voelen dan kunnen wij natuurlijk naar een arts gaan, een goede vriend(in) opbellen of een stuk chocola eten… Maar volgens wellnest kunnen wij nog iets anders doen. Onze omgeving veranderen, zodat deze ons gelukkig en beter gaat maken. Wij kunnen onze eigen wellnest creëren.

DESIGN ALS THERAPIE.

De oorspronkelijke functie van gebouwen was om ons veilig te houden door tegen de vijanden en de natuur te beschermen. Tegenwoordig moet een gebouw aan veel meer eisen voldoen. We willen ons niet alleen veilig in een ruimte voelen maar ook al onze zintuigen en emoties prikkelen. We zoeken rust, ontspanning, inspiratie, genot, projectie van onszelf en onze dromen en we willen beter en succesvoller worden in de omgeving waarin we leven. Door bij het ontwerpen van gebouwen en interieur rekening te houden met al deze emotionele eisen, zijn we in staat deze zo vorm te geven dat ze precies aansluiten bij wie we zijn en wat we willen ervaren.

Cosy fall.

I have to say that I love this time of the year. We live in a place where we really can see everything change at this time of the year and it is beautiful! Everything seems to be more poetic, more profound. Even every color seems to be deeper!

Maybe it’s the weather changing or maybe it’s the fact that I'm getting older, but all we want for fall is cozy sweaters, warm socks, chocomel and plaids. Curling up on the sofa to watch the return of all my favourite TV series and to read a good book. 

When transitioning to fall and winter, I always pay special attention to the energy of my home and use Feng Shui to strengthen and balance it. Mother Nature gave us some wonderful autumn colors to enjoy, so I love to bring these warm colors into my home. Dark blue and moss green color tones add gradually losing its brightness beautiful colors of sky and trees. Warm red, plum, orange and soft gray and brown colors symbolize rich fall leaves colors and create quiet fall decorating mood.

Cooler weather means we can experiment with chunky knits and lots of layers. We need cuddly throws and cushions on our favourite seats that will fill our rooms with warmth and cosiness. There is no need to change the furniture – it is enough to add only a few decorations in EARTH colors. It is very easy to make fall decorations. You can arrange a small table with few apples, seasonal vegetables, leaves, nuts, cinnamon sticks and candles to complete the autumnal atmosphere of your living space.

Pure WHITE

I love WHITE!
White is just the perfect color; for it is all colors, in perfect balance and harmony.

White often reminds me of Heaven with angels dancing among the clouds in white flowing gowns and white wings. I often use this color in my house and for meditation. I also surround myself and other people (if they ask me to do so ;)) with the white light of healing and protection.

White Energy:

Strictly speaking, white is not a color, but the manifestation of the presence of all color - the complete energy of light. It stands for wholeness and completion. In many cultures it represents openness, truth, purity, cleansing, healing and protection. It is a good color for the removal of pain and suffering. It can also be used to clear blocks from your path. In the aura it signifies a high level of attainment, a higher level soul incarnate to help others. In feng shui, white represents the METAL element. Therefore, white is a wonderful color to use in the creativity/children (WEST) and helpful people/travel (NORTHWEST) areas of the bagua. 

White Color:

White is often used to represent coolness and simplicity. It's a good backgroud color. White’s association with cleanliness and sterility is often seen in hospitals, medical centers, and laboratories to communicate safety. The color white is also associated with low-fat foods and dairy products. In color psychology white is the color of new beginnings. It is the blank canvas waiting to be written upon. It opens the way for the creation of anything the mind can conceive.

GOOD DESIGN.

As an interior designer and passionate feng shui consultant I’m daily surrounded by all sorts of designs – some very tasteful some a bit less, therefore people often ask me what is actually GOOD DESIGN?

This question is always on the top of my mind, exactly what makes a design a good design. Some may say, it’s the physic of the product and its colour an other may say it’s the designer that counts, but at the end it’s, I think, the most important what makes it appealing to us, as we’re the one that are going to use it and enjoy it day in day out. In the same way that some flowers or musical notes appeal to us and some not, the energy of the objects in the space will either appeal to our personal energy field or they will produce a negative or unpleasant experience.

If you use feng shui principles as your main criteria by choosing a design piece for your home, you will be able to create a space that it’s good for you – a good design. I have to tell you, there are some very good designs 'out there', in the big world; I’d gladly share with you the ones I like the most and often use in my projects.

I’m really struck by a design from the Swedish design group Front, it’s called the Horse Lamp, and have a look at the picture! But please note, it’s almost real life size, so it probably doesn’t fit in all rooms. Beautiful made and best of all, it’s so elegant and simple, and that’s probably the power of it all. You could use it in the south corner of your house or office as the horse is an animal that belongs to that sector. I’ve advised it to a close client of mine that wanted to become famous in his work. We didn’t have to wait long to get the first results!
