GOOD DESIGN.
As an interior designer and passionate feng shui consultant I’m daily surrounded by all sorts of designs – some very tasteful some a bit less, therefore people often ask me what is actually GOOD DESIGN?
This question is always on the top of my mind, exactly what makes a design a good design. Some may say, it’s the physic of the product and its colour an other may say it’s the designer that counts, but at the end it’s, I think, the most important what makes it appealing to us, as we’re the one that are going to use it and enjoy it day in day out. In the same way that some flowers or musical notes appeal to us and some not, the energy of the objects in the space will either appeal to our personal energy field or they will produce a negative or unpleasant experience.
If you use feng shui principles as your main criteria by choosing a design piece for your home, you will be able to create a space that it’s good for you – a good design. I have to tell you, there are some very good designs 'out there', in the big world; I’d gladly share with you the ones I like the most and often use in my projects.
I’m really struck by a design from the Swedish design group Front, it’s called the Horse Lamp, and have a look at the picture! But please note, it’s almost real life size, so it probably doesn’t fit in all rooms. Beautiful made and best of all, it’s so elegant and simple, and that’s probably the power of it all. You could use it in the south corner of your house or office as the horse is an animal that belongs to that sector. I’ve advised it to a close client of mine that wanted to become famous in his work. We didn’t have to wait long to get the first results!
Front's design collection (see also moooi) has a series of animal shaped furniture and lamps, so if you need a secret friend (if you are a DOG person then RABBIT, or if you are a TIGER then a BOAR) with a modern design touch, now you know where to find it ;)
What do you think? Will you be adding some feng shui and animal magic to your interior scheme soon?

New Moon = New Beginning.
Tonight, there is a new moon in the sky. New moon energy can be powerful.Tapping into this energy can support your dreams and desires, because it brings new beginnings .
So, have you
been ready for a change? Maybe you've been ready to throw everything away and
start all over. If you have, you have the new moon to give you support.
A new moon
represent a new beginning. It's a good time to move past the old, move through
what no longer serves you, and set up whole new paradigms for your life, like
ridding yourself of toxic relationships, clutter or over-scheduling.
The
Tibetan Master says:
“The
time of the new moon is a time to breathe in deeply and move into a calm state
of mind. In this state, you can watch your emotions come and go and not be
affected by them. In this calmness, you begin to see your life more clearly;
you begin to see what is possible. Now you can tune into your Soul, your Higher
Self. Stay calm, and let your Higher Self give you a vision of your true
purpose”.
I invite
you to tune into your Soul and create a vision board of your true desires. Go
to a quiet space in your home where you can concentrate on yourself for a
little while. Create a relaxing atmosphere. Put on inspiring music. Light a few
candles if you want. Close your eyes and take a moment to reflect on your big
goals and dreams. What do you want your ideal life to look like?
Find
pictures that represent or symbolize the experiences, feelings, and possessions
you want to attract into your life, and place them in your board. Have fun with
the process! Use photographs, magazine cutouts, pictures from the Internet,
happy quotes, whatever inspires you. Be creative!
How to
use your vision board.
Keep
your vision board on the nightstand next to your bed or hang it on the wall in
your living room or office. Look at your vision board often and feel the
inspiration it provides. Spend time each morning and evening visualizing and
affirming your goals. Believe it is already yours.
Need some inspiration? Here a few inspiring pictures to get the idea.
I hope
I've inspired you to create your own vision board.

Use crystals for good flow of energy in your environment.
I love crystals! And I place them often in my house and office to create good Feng Shui energy.
Did you know that the word crystal comes from the Greek word krystallos, meaning frozen light.
Gift your home with some natural crystals. Be sure to place them in good energy areas, such as your dining, living room or main entry table, your bookshelves and, of course, your altar.
What a beautiful and fitting description of their true nature! They indeed emanate pure love and light into our surroundings.
Crystals have been used over the centuries for a myriad of purposes - from healing to protection to decoration. Here a few decorating tips for energising your space with crystals.
Get inspired!
You may be attracted to certain crystals because of their form, their color, the feeling they may give you or anything else that make those stones special in your eyes. If you are lacking in certain element/energy, you may have a special instinct for the color correspondint with that particular element. So always listen to your inner voice by purchasing a stone. You may be surprised and pleased, by the power of chosen gemstone in improving the ambience of your home, as well as the progress of your life.
MY FAVORITE STONES:
Tigers eye is a very protective stone with a powerful energy.
Amethyst purifies and transmutes all forms of negativity and provides protection.
Rose Quartz is great for healing emotional matters.
Citrine is the best type of crystal to use for attracting abundance.
Tourmaline is believed to shield the owner to many adverse circumstances and bad luck.
Jade carries a sweet, light and nourishing energy that can feel very healing.
Hematite has a very strong grounding energy; it is also used for centering energy.
A large piece of celestite in a room will heighten vibrations benefitting health and well-being.
